  • What is Qatar Embassy Attestation?
Qatar Embassy Attestation is a process of Legalizing of documents so that they can be used in Qatar legally for employment, study or for commercial purposes. Depending on the situation and need, many different types of documents can be attested. Before Qatar Embassy Attestation can be done on a document, there are 3 stages of attestation that need to be done. These three stages of attestation are done from Indian authorities. Attestation from MEA is the second last step before the document proceeds to Qatar Embassy for the Embassy Attestation.
  • Why is Qatar Embassy Attestation necessary?
Simply explained, you can only use your documents (Personal, Educational or Commercial) in Qatar only after they have been attested by the Qatar Embassy. This is a condition set by the Qatar Embassy due to which your relevant documents will need to be attested before they can be used in Qatar. You will receive your student visa or Employment Visa only after your documents have been duly attested by the Qatar Embassy.
  • What are the stages to get Qatar Embassy Attestation done?
  1. Local Level
The first step is the Notary which is done at the Local or Regional Level. In case of a Commercial Document, the first step is to get the Chamber of Commerce attestation which is done.
  1. State Level
This is the next step of the Attestation process. The three authorities who attest the document at this level are the Home Department, Human Resources Department (HRD) & the Sub Divisional Magistrate. Depending on the type of document, the state from which it is issued & the final Embassy Attestation which needs to be done, you might need to get attestation done from any one of the three above-mentioned authorities. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate Attestation is on the same level as the Home Department Attestation.
  1. MEA Level
The next step in the Attestation process is the MEA Attestation which is done by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
  1. Qatar Embassy Attestation
The final step is the Embassy Attestation. After this step is done, your document can be used in the country that you are emigrating to. Embassy Attestation is done by the authorized personnel present at the Embassy.

Qatar Embassy Attestation Procedure :-

For Educational Documents

Process:

  • Attestation by the State Education Department (HRD) of respective state
  • Attestation from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA)
  • Attestation from Qatar Embassy, New Delhi;

For Educational Degree Certificates– Qatar Embassy requires and Attests the certificate only with consolidated / final year mark sheet and the Verification letter from the University or College. All three documents, the degree Certificate, Mark Sheet and Verification Letter have to be attested concurrently. There are certain compulsory supporting documents that must be attached along with the original Educational certificates that need to be attested:

  • The degree certificate has to be accompanied with the final year mark-sheet.
  • The degree has to be from a Government recognized Institute/ University.
  • The course has to be a Full Time course with affiliation to universities- UGC/AICTE/NAAC.
  • Verification Letter from the respective University or College- Qatar Embassy Compulsorily requires Verification letter from the college or concerned University that has to be submitted along with the certificate. The Degree Certificate will not be attested without the Verification Letter. Also, the Verification Letter has to bear a mandatory Attestation from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India.

For Non-Educational Documents

Process 1:

  • Attestation by the State Home Department of respective state;
  • Attestation from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA);
  • Attestation from Qatar Embassy/Consulate

Process 2 (Case Specific):

  • Attestation from the Home Department of Maharashtra State;
  • Attestation from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA);
  • Attestation from Qatar Embassy/Consulate.

Process 3 (Case Specific):

  • Attestation by the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), New Delhi;
  • Attestation from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA);
  • Attestation from Qatar Embassy.

For Commercial Documents

Process:

  • Attestation by the Chamber Of Commerce;
  • Attestation from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA);
  • Attestation from Qatar Embassy.

Following documents are required for Attestation of educational and personal documents:

  • Original documents to be attested;
  • One clear photocopy of the passport;

In the case of Commercial Document Attestation, following documents are required to be submitted:

  • Original documents duly attested by the respective Chamber of Commerce under the name and designation seal of the Attesting Officer and the seal of the Chamber of Commerce;
  • One clear photocopy of all the documents;
  • One Covering Letter addressed to the Embassy
  • Embassy’s fees per document as determined by them after checking the documents
